About Me

Shelley is a registered clinical counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (#3096). She holds a Bachelor of Education (UBC) and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Shelley has over 20 years of experience working with children, teens and families. Her warm style of establishing and maintaining rapport with clients creates a safe environment for change.

Shelley practises using an eclectic approach including Adlerian and Family Systems Theory. She also utilizes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Lifespan Integration. As a wife and mother of three children (including two teenagers), Shelley is intimately aware of the joys and challenges that family life can bring. She believes this personal experience enriches her skill as a mental health clinician.

Shelley treats for anxiety disorders. and teaches parent education; including helping parents understand the goals of their children's misbehaviour. She also treats depression, grief and loss, and teaches anger management for all ages. She helps create results-based parenting plans for couples who are separated or divorced, and is experienced in presenting on a variety of mental health issues to small or large groups.
